Enright, Walter J. (1879 - 1969)

Walter J. Enright was an American political cartoonist. A native of Chicago, he studied at the Chicago Art Institute. He became a professional cartoonist in New York City, where his work was published in the New York American and the New York World. He was also an illustrator for The Century Magazine, Redbook, Collier's, Scribner, McClure's, and Life. He later moved to Florida, where he was a cartoonist for the Miami Herald from 1933 to 1943, and for The Palm Beach Post from 1943 to 1948. In addition to his work as a cartoonist he illustrated a number of children's books, including at least one by Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum.
