On the 23 November 2017, The 17th Political Cartoon Society’s Political Cartoon of the Year Awards were once again majestically hosted by Ellwood Atfield at St Johns Church in Smith Square SW1. 700 people attended this magnificent event as Evening Standard Editor, George Osborne, was on hand to present the awards. Despite being ribbed by the winning cartoonists, Osborne managed to maintain his composure throughout. Morten Morland of The Times was the Political Cartoonist of the Year for the second year running, whilst Dave Brown of the Independent was runner up. Ben Jennings of the i newspaper won the cartoon of the year award, whilst Bob Moran of the Daily Telegraph was runner up.
