Thomson, J. Gordon (1842 - 1893)

During the 1860s Thomson’s work appeared in Punch, Beeton’s Magazine, Boy’s Own Magazine, Broadway, London Society and SundayHe also contributed to the Graphic, most notably cartoons about the Franco-Prussian war. From 1870 to 1878 and again from 1890 to 1893 Thomson was Political Cartoonist on Fun magazine. Influenced by Tenniel, his cartoons were imaginative and generally supportive of the Liberal Party.
