Despite never having had a published cartoon before, Clyde Peterson walked in to the Houston Chronicle with his portfolio and said "Show this to the editor. I'll be back in three hours." They offered him a fulltime job and he used the pen name CP Houston. Peterson was for 40 years the editorial cartoonist at the Chronicle. In addition to cartoons, Peterson also wrote articles, columns and editorials for the Houston Chronicle. His cartoons were nationally syndicated and appeared in as many as 90 newspapers a week. His cartoons have also appeared in Time, U.S. News, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and the Washington Post, just to name a few. Peterson has also done work for ABC's Good Morning America, CBS's 60 Minutes, and C-Span.
