Hal Eyre was a cartoonist, illustrator and journalist. During his career he worked in Brisbane at the Queenslander and the Daily Mail and In 1908, Eyre became the full time political cartoonist of the Sydney Daily Telegraph. His son Harry Eyre Jr, was for many years a cartoonist at the Sydney Morning Herald.
