Mel Calman is best known for his ‘little man’ character in his Times pocket cartoons. Calman also contributed to books, periodicals, newspapers and glossy magazines such as Cosmopolitan. He spent a year (1963-1964) as resident cartoonist on BBC’s Tonight programme.
